Leyla Tawfik
I’m Leyla Tawfik, a cross-disciplinary problem-solver currently based in Qatar. Since 2017, I have been dedicated to the development of an ed-tech project called Ethafa. My professional journey includes roles at Arduino, Martel Innovate, Interaction Design Lab SUPSI, Fablab SUPSI, and Scale7 Labs.
Currently, I serve as a Senior EdTech Designer for Ibtechar while actively contributing to the growth of Ethafa.
In addition to my professional engagements, I hold the position of Adjunct Faculty at VCU Qatar, where I teach in the Art Foundation and Graphic Design Department. As a multi-disciplinary designer, my expertise lies in crafting physical interactive experiences and ensuring project delivery within designated timelines, utilizing Agile methodologies.
In 2023, I was part of the team of curators and served as an MC during the IxD23 conference. My passion extends to designing playful experiences and organizing workshops and training sessions for both children and adults, focusing on electronics, digital fabrication, jewelry crafting and biotech.
I have also had the privilege of being a guest speaker at various conferences, sharing insights on technology inclusivity and interaction design.
