Light is an essential thing in our lives and we have been able to capture it. LightUP is a fun and simple way to understand it. Children build a pocket light with a battery, a led light and a laser cut cardboard.

What You'll Need

One child kit:

  • 3V disk battery
  • Cardboard laser cut archive
  • Small LED light



  • Basic electronics knowledge
  • nergy transportation


The Instructions


Get the material and prepare an explanation

Laser cut the archive

Get white scholar glue


Gather the children for an explanation

Explain the children this concepts (Do it in a dynamic way and give examples)

Give the children the material and show them how to build the item

Explain them you are going to create a pocket lamp and let them watch you do it

  • (Fab-Safety.1): I can safely conduct myself in a Fab Lab and observe operations under instructor guidance.
  • (Fab-Electronics.1): I can follow instructions to build a simple electrical circuit using conductive material, basic components, and power.
  • (Fab-Fabrication.1): I can follow instructor guided steps that link a software to a machine to produce a simple physical artifact.
