Meet 2025 Chevron Fab STEM Fellow Đào Thị Hồng Quyên
Đào Thị Hồng Quyên is a Vietnamese STEM educator and the founder of the STEM Education Promotion Alliance (SEPA), a social enterprise with the mission: Quality STEM Education for All. Growing up in a small farming village, Quyen believed that science and technology could help transform lives—but opportunities were scarce. Today, she leads inclusive STEM programs that blend indigenous knowledge, sustainability, and digital fabrication to empower girls, rural youth, and underrepresented communities. Her initiatives—STEM for Vulnerable Adolescents, and The Science of Rice—bring cultural relevance and creativity into science classrooms. As a Fulbright alumna and current Ph.D. student, she has trained hundreds of teachers and reached thousands of students across Vietnam. Quyen believes STEM should be a bridge, not a barrier—and dreams of a future where every child, no matter where they are born, can turn their ideas into impact through STEM.
