Meet 2025 Chevron Fab STEM Fellow Grecia Bello
I am Grecia Bello, an electronics and systems engineer, and currently the coordinator of Fab Lab Santa Cruz in Bolivia, located at the Universidad Privada Franz Tamayo (Unifranz). I am a Fabricademist, having studied Fabricademy at Fab Lab Barcelona, where I deepened my passion for digital fabrication, textile innovation, and sustainability. I am passionate about working at the intersection of technology, art, and sustainability, leading projects that bring science and the maker culture closer to diverse communities. I am the founder of Open Fiber, a research community focused on sustainable textile fibers, and the creator of Arakuaa, a project that transforms plastic waste into fibers inspired by indigenous knowledge. I firmly believe in the power of open digital fabrication to create a more equitable, collaborative, and regenerative future.
