Anne Moore
Anne Moore has been a classroom teacher for 20 years. She is currently the secondary gifted resource teacher for Goochland County Public Schools, grades 6-12, where she coordinates and implements lessons that support middle school teachers in providing challenging pedagogy for gifted students. Her responsibilities also include working with high school students in the Advance College Academy as well as students enrolled in Dual Enrollment courses.
Moore is one of ten math and science teacher leaders selected to serve as a 2017 STEM Teacher Ambassador, sponsored by the National Science Teachers Association. The STEM Teacher Ambassadors take on additional responsibilities and leadership positions that create new roles and support educators and leaders in STEM education.
Moore is a member of the VTEEA, the ITEEA, a past board member of the Virginia Association of Science Teachers, and is on the Teacher Advisory Panel for 100Kin10 – a national STEM initiative.
Moore, who received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (2013) has been recognized at the local, state, and national levels for her award-winning programs and instructional practices. She is the recipient of the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators (2015), the Thomas Jefferson Award for Natural Science Education, the Air Force Association STEM Teacher of the Year – Virginia Region I, and the Outstanding Gifted Teacher of the Year – Chesterfield County and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Moore received her undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and her Masters Degree in Gifted Education from Arkansas State University.
