Jason Fialkovich

My name is Jason Fialkovich and I’ve been the Youth Services Librarian at the Middletown Free Library for 7 years now (fulltime). I handle programs & book orders for our collection from infants through teens. I’m also an independent contracted teacher at The Creative Living Room for their STEAM Lab classes and now S2STEM in Garnet Valley as an after school STEM Guru. In my spare time, I love to play board & card games, craft, tinker with electronics, read, and write. I don’t think of myself as a “teacher” but more so as a role model. I am not a formal teacher, but I believe heavily in hands-on learning & guided instruction. You are more likely to remember information if you discover it yourself or had direct experience with it, than if someone made you recite it. There is an amazing Confucian proverb that I like to live by: “If your plan is for one year plant rice. If your plan is for ten years plant trees. If your plan is for one hundred years educate children.”  My hope is that I inspire hundreds of kids who in turn will grow up & do amazing things with their lives & inspire hundreds more after them.
