Summary

In this workshop participants will learn the basics of Augmented reality and characters building . They will use ScratchMIT software to Hack a new character from their own imagination as a simulation of augmented reality.

The Instructions

Theoretical Presentation

A theoretical presentation about different related technologies will be presented.

  1. What is Augmented Reality technologies.
  2. What is the Wearable Technology
  3. Explain the prosthetics and it’s technology .

 

Introduction to Scartch MIT software

A Brief introduction to Scratch MIT and It's Interface .

  1. How to open the platform to build a project ( https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/editor/?tutorial=getStarted).
  2. Introduce the required icons and interface window .
  3. How to upload the characters
  4. How to get the right background of your project.

 

Select your basic character

Allow participants to select their basic character and the robot to use in Hacking.

  1. Go to Choose a Sprite Icon
  2. Select a Human Character as a basic one.
  3. Go back to characters again and choose a robotic character.

 

Background

Participants here will select the suitable background for their characters

  1. Go to Choose a Backdrop Icon
  2. Select the best one you think it suits the characters.

 

Customization

Start to customize the basic characters.

  1. Select the robotic Character
  2. Select one part of the Robot
  3. Copy this part and duplicate it.

 

Hack the basic character

In this step participants will start to add the new parts to basic character.

  1. Select the basic character
  2. Delete the needed parts of the basic character.
  3. Paste the copied parts from the robot to the basic character.
  4. Attach these parts.

More Hakhing

Add more hacking options to the character

Use the customization options to add more features and properties to your new characters.

Final Project

Allow participants to talk about their thoughts in their final projects

Save your project

Let participants to save their projects for later modifications and presenting
