This is 4 days program where the participants will have to attend 4 classes, and each class will be 2 hours to learn about new different topics related to robotics such as mechanics, sensors, actuators, machine learning, and coding.
The session aims to deliver the knowledge of robot control and the history behind robotics, in order to introduce the participant to the ways robots interact and behave with the surrounding environment through sensors and actuators.
This lesson has been developed based on project/problem-based learning, that’s means that the kids will have a problem and they need to solve it in a practical way by making their own projects.
At the beginning of the lesson introduce a problem to them, and ask them about the possible solutions. I recommend mentioning something related to the sustainable development goals – SDG- if possible such as topics related to health, education, climate change, food, etc.
Tell them a story about NASA’s curiosity and perseverance robots.
The onsite session aims to deliver a bit deeply about the parts of the robotics [Brain, Sensors, and Actuators], in order to be introduced to the VEX V5 parts and its sensors and how the brain responds through actuators.
This onsite session aims towards delivering the knowledge of coding robotics and programming languages in order to drive participant attention towards learning how to code as it is the language of the future and to give them the chance to code a VEX robot they have built from scratch. Participants will also learn how to fetch sensor data and analyze it and perform the needed action through actuators.
The final session will deliver the knowledge of how artificial intelligence benefits robotics, Participant will also be introduced to machine learning and its types in order to understand the machine vision working principle. We will use machine vision to identify the color of objects in order to identify the objects the robot has to pick.
