Summary

In this track we will introduce the sport in Islam as a religion encouraged practising sports. We will introduce some of the technology that can involve in sport like Virtual Reality.

What You'll Need

Unplugged lesson aims towards delivering the know how to use unity to create virtual reality scene, everything is provided and free.

 

1- Duration: 5 hours

The Instructions

Day 1 ( Tour in Unity )

In this day we will introduce the participant to the Islam and how Islam encouraged sports practising in order to introduce the participant to Unity software to build an Archer game using animated character from Mixamo platform.

1- We will start by an Ice breaking question.

 

2- Then we will discuss how Islam encouraged sport and the prophet Hadith.

 

3- Then we will go through the Archery history and how it just transferred to sport nowadays.

 

4- Then we will show a video from Qatar, how the people still holding this as a culture.

 

5- Then we will move toward discussing what is unity and how it works.

 

 

 

6- Then we will show them a video about unity.

7- Then we will show them how to create a project on unity.

 

8- Then how the hierarchy will appear and what is parent object and child object.

 

9- Then we will ask the participant to download Unity and to give a visit to Mixamo platform.

 

Download Unity

In this section we will show the participant how to download unity and how to download the character from Mixamo.

2- Then we will open Mixamo to download the character and the animation. 

Day 2 ( Virtual Reality )

In this day we will introduce the participant to the unreal reality technology to introduce the participant to the virtual reality. Also, we will introduce the participant to the project we will build on unity.

1- We will ask the participant about the unreal reality.

 

2- What is virtual reality.

 

3- The software’s used in building virtual reality environment.

 

4- Then we will show the participant a video about the virtual reality.

 

5- What is Animation

 

6- Video about animation

 

7- We will ask about the merging between the animation and the virtual reality.

Practice

In this section we will show the participant the final (game) project look and how to start doing it from scratch using unity software.

1- We will start here by showing the full game on unity.

2- We will repeat the steps of downloading the character and thee animations from “MIXEMO”

 

 

  • Choose the character or search for one.

 

  • Then, after choosing the character, we will go to the animation tap and search for an animation that fit our goals in the game (Archery).

 

  • We will download the character with the animation.

 

 

 

Day 3 (Augmented Reality)

In this day we will introduce the participant to the Augmented reality and how its been merged in different sectors in order to complete the project we started.

1- What is Augmented Reality

 

2- Then we will show a video about what is augmented reality.

 

3- Then we will ask the participant about the if they have experienced Augmented reality before

Practice

In this section we will build the movement script of the player and we will add the collider to the player, also we will create the 3rd person camera settings.

1- We will show the participant the settings they have to build in this day also we show them the codes we are going to create next time.

 

2- We will show them what is meant by coding and how to create scripts in unity software.

 

3- Then we will show them a video about coding and the languages of coding.

 

 

4- Then we will start creating the scripts of the movement, and also we will add the settings to the player prefab.

 

5- Then we will show them what is meant by the collider and how to install it to any prefab also how to be modified in size to fit the prefab.

 

 

6- Then we will discuss what is meant by a 3rd person camera and how to build one.

 

Day 4 ( Mixed Reality)

In this day participant will get to know mixed reality technology and they are going to be introduced to the asset store in unity in order to know how to download the assets needed top finalize the project.

1- we will be asking the participant if they know a technology might mix between AR and VR.

2- Then we will define the mixed reality technology as an environment that combines the physical with the digital to create an interaction environment.

3- Then we will show the participant a video present the technology.

4- Then we will present how the technology is involved in sports.

5- Then we will show them a video where 4 dimensional experience were used.

6- Then we will ask the participant how they think this kind of technology is involved in training.

What we will be doing today

In this step we will show the participant what we will need to have our project done and also the steps we need to take to have the code of our objects ready.

1- We will start by reviewing the stuff we have to build and download.

2- Then we will show them how to access the asset store and how to download the needed files.

 

3- The package that contains the bow and arrow to download.

4- Then we will show them the cross-hair and the file we will be using for our cross-hair.

Day 5 (Extended reality)

In this day we will introduce the participant to the extended reality technology and they are going to be introduced to the UI camera and sounds in order to know how they are being added to projects in unity and how they are coded.

1- we ask the participant how they can differentiate between the unreal technologies.

 

2- Then we will define the extended reality technology to the participant in order for them to understand how it works and also how it combines all the previous technologies.

3- Then we will show participant the technology in action.

4- Then we will show participant a video present the technology in action.

What we will be doing today

In this step we will show the way of to add sounds to our scene and character like the movement sound when our character start moving and also we will add the User interface camera where we can hologram patterns on our screen.

1- We will start by showing the things we are going to build and add to our scene.

2- Then we will demonstrate the way of adding sounds to our scene.

3- Then we will show participant the settings we have to modify and add to build our UI camera.

Standards

  • (Fab-Programming.3): I can create a program with multiple instructions and branching elements as well as reading / controlling inputs and outputs on a microcontroller board.
  • (Fab-Design.3): I can initiate design processes to generate multiple solutions to problems I have framed for multiple stakeholders.
