Summary

In this workshop students will learn to make a Electronic Complaint Box with Arduino.

Students learn concepts of electronics and Arduino programming by their own Electronic Complaint Box.

Along with this concepts they study laser cutter and software used for laser cutter to assemble their model.

What You'll Need

Material which use to make Electronic Complaint Box.

–   Arduino Uno Board

–   IR Sensor

–   Jumper Wires

–   Arduino Cable

–   LED

–   Power Supply / Adapter

The Instructions

Make all connections of Arduino Board, IR Sensor and LED.

- 5V Arduino to Vcc of IR Sensor - Pin 7 of Arduino to OUT of IR Sensor - Pin 13 of Arduino to +ve of LED - Pin GND of Arduino to GND of IR Sensor - Pin GND of Arduino to –ve of LED Arduino IR Sensor LED 5V Vcc - Pin 7 OUT - Pin 13 - +ve GND GND - GND - -ve

Discuss with student about Arduino Uno Board, Type of Sensors and which Sensor we are using in our Complaint Box. And introduce them to software which is used for Laser Cutter Machine.

Write Program in Arduino Software.

Introduce Arduino Software to students and explain how to do program of IR Sensor and LED.

Upload Arduino program in Arduino Board by Arduino. Check all components working properly. And now connections and programming are done.

Check the connections before uploading the program in Arduino.

Make 2D design in Inkscape for assembly of Complaint Box. And then cut that design in Laser Cutter.

For 2D design introduce students with Inkscape 2D design software. Cut that parts in Laser Cutter so for this tell them information about the Laser Cutter.

Now assemble that Arduino and connections of wire systematically inside that Laser Cutted parts. Your Electronics Complaint Box done.

Place Complaint Box in your Schools, Colleges, Offices etc.

Standards

  • (Fab-Safety.1): I can safely conduct myself in a Fab Lab and observe operations under instructor guidance.
  • (Fab-Programming.1): I understand the basic structure of a simple program and can modify values, variables, or other parameters to alter its output, function, or behavior.
  • (Fab-Electronics.1): I can follow instructions to build a simple electrical circuit using conductive material, basic components, and power.
  • (Fab-Modeling.1): I can arrange and manipulate simple geometric elements, 2D shapes, and 3D solids using a variety of technologies.
  • (Fab-Fabrication.1): I can follow instructor guided steps that link a software to a machine to produce a simple physical artifact.
  • (Fab-Design.1): I can be responsible for various activities throughout a design process within a group under instructor guidance.
