Summary

This is 5 days online camp, in each day one hour class. participants will be introduced to 3D design through Tinkercad software they will use some new tools and techniques to design and customize Star wars characters.

After participants Mastering the Tinkercad software and all of its tools, they will learn how digital fabrication tools such as a 3D printer can be applied in prototyping.

The Instructions

Day 1 - Intro to basic geometry

In this session, participants will get introduced to 3D modeling using Tinkercad software to design, and the basic features of it in order to create a 3D geometry. LESSON OBJECTIVES: After this lesson, students will be able to Explain what is 3D modeling. Use the basic features of Tinkercad such as Basic objects, Movement and camera control, Object interaction, and Object manipulation. Create 3D designs.

1 – introduce MS Teams tools to participants so they will be able to use it in an appropriate way during the lesson

 

2- Introduce yourself, your team and what you are teaching

 

3- Give a general idea about the camp

 

4 – Introduce the Engineering Design Challenge to participants based on the educational approach of STEM to encourage creative thinking and develop technological solution to problems.

5- Explain 3D design and tinker cad and ask them to create their 3d designs

 

 

 

Day 2 - Tinkercad advanced tools

In this session, participants will be introduced to the advanced tools in Tinkercad software to design and create more complex shapes. LESSON OBJECTIVES: After this lesson, students will be able to Creating holes and use new tools. Combine objects. Create more complex shapes.

 

 

 

 

Day 3 - Customize characters with Tinkercad

DESCRIPTION: In this session, participants will be introduced to some new tools and technique to design and customize a Star wars character. LESSON OBJECTIVES: After this lesson, students will be able to Use new tools such as Mirror, Radius and Align tools. Design and customize complex characters.

Day 4 - DESIGN A CRUISER MODEL

DESCRIPTION: In this session, participants will be asked to design a cruiser model - X wing cruiser, also they will learn how digital fabrication tools such as a 3D printer can be applied in prototyping. LESSON OBJECTIVES: After this lesson, students will be able to Mastering tinkercad and use all tools. Explain what is 3D printing.
