Virtual Reality is considered an important technology that gives excellent scope to diverse fields. In this session, participants will be introduced to VR and its applications in different sectors such as, fashion, gaming, and training. In the end, they will be introduced to 3D modeling software and learn the process to create a virtual scene.

In this camp participants are going to start fashion tech to explore VR technology and learn 3D modeling, you will need to attend 5 days during the week, each day you will have a one-hour class.

On the last day, they will be asked to conduct a final project using the knowledge and skills they learned.

start the lesson with the engineering design challenge, which is a problem you provide to them and hear from them their solutions.

ex:

Aisha is a fashion artist, and she wants to establish a virtual fashion store that can be explored through software to help people to save time and choose clothes in an easy way.

Aisha is asking for your help to design 3D avatars that can be called virtual humans. These 3D avatars can help the shoppers in trying their outfit and see how their cloth will actually look like after wearing.

VR INTRODUCTION

Is a trending technology referring to a computer-generated simulation in which a person can interact within an artificial three-dimensional environment using electronic devices, such as special goggles with a screen or gloves fitted with sensors?

Types of Virtual Reality – VR

There are three main types of virtual reality used today to transform the world around us, including non-immersive, semi-immersive, and fully immersive simulations.

To get a better understanding of how the technology is used, let’s break down the different types of VR and see examples of each.

Types of Virtual Reality – VR

1- Fully-Immersive

2- Simi-Immersive

3- Non-Immersive

Non-immersive simulations are often forgotten as an actual type of VR, because it’s very common in our everyday lives.

The average video game is technically considered a non-immersive virtual reality experience. Think about it, you’re sitting in a physical space, interacting with a virtual one.

Semi-immersive experiences provide users with a partially virtual environment to interact with. In this example, the instruments in front of the girl are real and the windows are screens displaying virtual content.

It’s important to keep in mind that semi-immersive VR simulations still give users the perception of being in a different reality.

Introduce Vectary software

Day 2 - Personalize your 3D avatar

To create a virtual scene, participants will be introduced to Vectary software and learn how to create basic objects and use basic options such as change colors and sizes to modify their virtual characters and add some accessories.

Day 3 - Accessories for Avatar

In this session, participants will be introduced to more tools and learn how to use new features in Vectary software to add 3D accessories for models and create a new environment inside the scenes. In the end, they will be introduced to the Edit mode inside the software to learn how to modify characters.

Day 4 - Texture and patterns for fabric

On the fourth day, participants will add the final touch to their scene and use the materials UI to Defines the color of a material (sRGB texture or solid color), also they will add new textures and fabrics to their models.

Day 5 - CREATE A NEW AVATAR FRIEND

: After participants gained the necessary knowledge and skills, they will be requested to conduct their final project of a 3D virtual model and customized new accessories and texture for it.

Standards

  • (Fab-Modeling.1): I can arrange and manipulate simple geometric elements, 2D shapes, and 3D solids using a variety of technologies.
  • (Fab-Design.1): I can be responsible for various activities throughout a design process within a group under instructor guidance.
